Hi, my name is Meghan (pronounced Mee-gan) and I am incredibly excited to welcome you here!

As a photographer, encaustic and mixed media artist, I am a true believer in the notion that each one of us is inherently creative. I also feel that we all have an abundance of unique gifts that are meant to be shared with others. Maybe you feel this way too.

At heart, I am a free spirit and my obsessions run deep: color, glitter, fun, all things rainbow and travel adventures. I've truly loved art since winning a coloring contest at the age of 8. Since childhood, I’ve always had a hand in something creative, whether it was painting bisque at pottery studios in New York City or falling in love with photography while living in Australia. I eventually made my first official travel photography coffee table book from a trip to Budapest and Prague in 2006, and I have never looked back.

Travel is my passion and I've been lucky to see the world. I once heard the quote, “travel makes you modest, it helps you understand what a tiny piece of the world you occupy.” Travel has done that for me for sure, and I have seen firsthand how we are all interconnected pieces here together. I've had the pleasure of calling Paris, Manhattan, Sydney, and most recently, Philadelphia my home. I especially love to travel solo. It helps me become more reflective, immerse myself deeper in the experience, and practice gratitude. In 2011, I spent three months on the road in Australia and throughout Asia. That time in my life was all about photography. Today, you can spot me creating in my art journal while drinking coffee (or the local cocktail) and simply watching the world go by.

I think we’re all lifelong learners. For me, my inner “forever student” has put me on a path from glassblowing (actually a lot harder than it looks) to gorgeous encaustic work (wax) to photography at studios across the world. I learned how to create angel art with real-life angel Kelly Rae Roberts. Isaiah Zagar taught me how to create amazing mosaic murals in downtown Philadelphia. I graduated with honors in photography from The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

I've always questioned the concept that art must be "serious" or later, in photography school, that you had to stick to one specific aesthetic style, or work with only one medium. My work varies from vivid and exuberant to soft and contemplative to whimsical and playful. I unapologetically work in different mediums on different days, and that makes me happy! I'm always working on different projects at once. While the cricut is cutting, I'm throwing alcohol ink around. If gesso is drying, I'm sorting my beautiful scraps of paper. Sometimes I'm chanting, and hey, sometimes I'm jamming out. Every day is different, which I truly love.

Welcome to my world! I'm so happy to have you. Let's create together! Be sure to check out the upcoming classes...

I think art should be fun and make you feel good.

Don’t you agree?
